Thing to do

This is a quiet place, a place of outstanding natural beauty. It’s not particularly easy to get here, but once you do, it seems there are an infinite range of ways you can reconnect with nature and your surroundings.

Walk

Find yourself by heading into the hills. Short and easy or long and hard, there are all sorts of walks waiting for you. At the bottom of the valleys pathways connect the villages, while higher up the terrain gets rugged and the views become spectacular.

Explore

Empty roads, sinuous curves, enticing routes that lead you on into the mountains. You are in the elements – lovely shaded forests, brilliant sunshine on the snow, mist hanging over the valley like at the dawn of time.

Discover

The Western Pyrenees are a biodiversity hotspot. Different altitudes and the overlapping of Atlantic and Mediterranean climates combine in countryside that has been carefully managed over centuries using traditional grazing and forestry methods.

Enjoy

Whether it’s traditional mountain cooking or specialist fancy fare, everything here is freshly prepared with local pride. Having a quiet drink in the village square or dining out with friends - food and drink is an essential part of our culture.

Contemplate

There’s plenty of cultural heritage to enjoy in our villages and in the mountains, and it’s not just churches and chapels. We have our own language, our own music and our own traditional dress, and there are plenty of opportunities to join in.

Listen

The mountains have their own sounds, from the sighing of the wind in the trees to the crunch of fresh snow under your snowshoes. You will have a chance to immerse all your senses in the world surrounding you.
